View all opening hoursThe Plantation of Ulster programme provides students with a thorough overview of the Plantation of Ulster. We examine the causes and the long-term consequences of the Plantation.
The programme can be tailored to meet school needs and the time available. A walking tour of Enniskillen, a Plantation town, is offered as well as the opportunity to visit a number of Plantation Castles in Fermanagh. The castles offer us a window to examine our shared political, social and economic history.
Typically, school groups visit Enniskillen Castle, Portora Castle, Monea Castle and Tully Castle. Students are given a detailed guided tour of each castle and the skills to “read” the architectural features of each of the castles.
